A recent article by the Washington Post indicated that there have been 386 school shootings since 1999, and more than 356,000 students have experienced gun violence in their school since Columbine. Another report by Education Week found that there have been 23 instances of school shootings leading to injuries or fatalities in 2023, 51 school shootings with deaths and/or injuries in 2022, and a total of 167 shootings since 2018.
