Patrick Higgins

Dr. Patrick D. Higgins has served as Dean of Students and Director of Student Activities at three high-performing high schools in Fairfield County, Connecticut, as well as a building Principal within the Diocese of Bridgeport Catholic Schools system, where he was responsible for administrative operations that included serving as a teaching principal and instructional leader for his colleagues.
Dr. Higgins holds a B.S. in Justice and Law Administration, an M.A. in History and International Relations, as well as an Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership and Education Psychology from Western Connecticut State University. Additionally, Patrick holds a Graduate Certificate from Creighton University.
Dr. Higgins is passionate about best practices in education and school administration, and has presented numerous professional development seminars and workshops at a diocesan, school, and university level on the topics of school climate and culture, student attention, and classroom management.Â
During his doctoral research, Dr. Higgins created a persuasive writing graphic organizer that continues to be utilized in assisting students who struggle with disseminating and organizing primary source information. Dr. Higgins has also created programs and protocols on the topics of school climate and physical safety and security; his most recent work during the COVID-19 pandemic when Catholic schools returned to in-person learning.Â
