Sandra Ehrlich brings 25 years of experience in school support and operations to help schools and districts develop systems to solve problems and expand capacity. A school board member for seven years and an Executive Director in the NYCDOE Office of School Operations, Sandra works best at the intersection of policy, strategic planning, facilities planning, technology planning and implementation, school safety and security. Sandra understands that schools and districts are interlocking systems and has the vision to help districts maximize their human and material resources. Her passion is providing every student with a safe, supportive, comfortable, and effective environment for learning.

Sandra has a particular focus on equity in schools, working to implement culturally responsive curriculum resources and develop equitable models for schools. As lead for the New York State Integration Project-Professional Learning Community (NYSIP-PLC) Sandra built a team of educators, students services and operations professionals to design and implement a pilot program to provide professional learning and upgrade curriculum in District elementary schools. She was part of the team that presented the plan at the 2019 Courageous Conversations about Race Summit.

Sandra was Department of Education lead on many multi-agency partnerships, including the “Get Kids Biking” program that provides on-bike education to over 6,000 middle school students each year in partnership with NYC Department of Transportation and Bike New York, and the DOE COVID-19 Situation Room in partnership with NYC Department of Health, Health and Hospitals Corp., and Department of Buildings.

Sandra has a B.A. from Queens College (CUNY) and a Masters in Public Administration from Baruch College (CUNY).
