Anthony DiCarlo

Senior Associate

Mr. DiCarlo is currently finishing up as the Interim Superintendent of Schools in Pawling Central School District. In addition, he served as the Interim Superintendent of School at the East Ramapo School district for the 2024-2025 school year where he was successful in passing a school budget which has been very difficult to accomplish over the last decade. He retired in June 2022 after serving as the Superintendent of Schools in the Mahopac Central School District, where he successfully led the district through significant advancements. His broad experience in public education - from elementary school settings to district superintendency - has earned him respect and admiration across several Hudson Valley school districts. His roles have included district-level administrator, building administrator, athletic director, teacher and coach.

Mr. DiCarlo is known for his collaborative style and desire to succeed, which have enabled him to gain deep insights into all aspects of the K-12 public education continuum. During challenging financial times, he worked closely with trustees, school business officials, and other administrators to make budget modifications while supporting key initiatives and instructional practices that enhance student achievement. Notably, he developed, implemented and oversaw a $54 million capital bond project during his tenure in Mahopac.

Prior to his four-year term as Mahopac superintendent, Mr. DiCarlo served as Principal of Trinity Elementary School in the New Rochelle City School District and as Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Special Education/Athletics/Personnel in the Tuckahoe Union Free School District. His career in public education began over 30 years ago as a secondary teacher specializing in Social Studies and Spanish in classrooms across Yonkers, Scarsdale and Eastchester. Mr. DiCarlo earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Iona College, as well as a master’s degree in School Administration from Iona College.

Outside of education, Mr. DiCarlo served as a Putnam County Legislator and Carmel Town Councilman, gaining a clear understanding of community concerns regarding school district budgets, taxes and the quality of education. He has forged important relationships with local, county, state and federal lawmakers, all of whom impact educational funding.
